About Rebekah
Rebekah Rossman was first published in Highlights Magazine at age eight. She won numerous writing awards throughout her early school days, including publications in university literary magazines. Her poetry and short stories have appeared in Chicago Story Press, Write City Magazine, The Windy City Review, Avalon Literary Review, and other literary publications. Her short story “Guess What” was the first piece accepted for UCLA’s Southland Alibi inaugural edition.
Rossman was twice nominated for the Allegra Johnson Literary Prize. In 2025, her essay, “What Sisters Do” was chosen in the Top 20 of the Writer’s Digest Personal Essay Awards.
She has a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Illinois—Urbana and is a current MFA in Writing Candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Rossman lives on Chicago’s North Shore with her two dogs, Shira and Maxey, and is writing her first memoir.
